Green Initiatives Here we are listing some of our earth friendly practices for you to have a look. Let it also be an inspiration to all who come here and if you have any suggestions please feel free to use our feedback form to let us know what we could possibly do than this. We are glad that so many big and small resorts and home stays are aware of the need of this and they had started to be earth friendly .So we are glad to be pioneers and lead the way for earth awareness. Planted lot of different trees and bio- diversity is ensured. No beef or meat producing animals No chemicals and fertilizers are used Minimum tillage is practiced. Bamboo plants in the garden. Various water conservation practices To ensure safe carrying capacity, minimum number of guests are limited In situ composting and mulching Local produces and services promoted No forest is cut down or no land is reclaimed , or rice paddies are filled for the tourism. Use of concrete and cement is minimized. Local Architecture is used in construction. Local and recycled building material is used .Local labor used for construction. Guests can do awareness walking. Local services are also arranged for guests. Energy initiatives Solar power for water heating ,Bio-gas for house kitchen .Energy efficient wooden stoves, and drying equipments. No electrical drying. Low wattage bright lights used. No air conditioning or big energy consuming equipments used. Maximum sun drying practiced. For power failures LED back up lights in the room. Guest Activities Public transport can be used to reach the property and leave.Local tuk tuk s are also used. Bicycles for guest use .Drinking water- refillable filtered water is also available .Introducing farm level bio diversity to guests. Food served is vegetarian Also local vegetarian cuisine is introduced. Organic food is promoted whenever possible. How your visit makes the difference The property owned and managed by the family from the locality. Local community benefited by the economic contribution into the society Preventing the conquering of the kitchen by the multinationals through introducing the local cuisine and highlighting its value Guest number is limited so that people are not dependent on tourism alone |
